I have a very close friend somebody that has helped me out many times in my need when my heart was very broken, and I was very hurt because of the tragedies in my life, and there came a time in our relationship we kind of went our own ways cause of the difficulties in life, one day about three years later, I ended seeing him again as I was putting a job application at a certain place, and he was there doing the same thing to, and I just happened to see him there and make eye contact with him so I could not help myself I just had to go over to him and shake hands, and we talked just a little while, and I told him if needed and help or a place to go he was welcome to come to my place I had an extra room he could stay in for a while so it was a few weeks down the road he ended coming to stay with my wife and I well that was about ten months ago and he still abiding with us.
Well now getting to the point I want to make is we need to put ourselves out there to help those in need, not just because someone helps us, but to help those in need because we have the love of Jesus Christ in our hearts. Well back to my friend he, sad to say does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I have spoke to him many times about his life and wanted to know where he thought it was headed, and he said he did not know he said he felt fine the way his life was going, and I thought for a while and said you know you got out of jail because of your DUI, and now you don’t have your drivers licence, and you lost your family, and your home that you were blessed with and you feel like your life is going just fine? So then it was quiet in the car for a moment, and I said to him I just want to ask you a question, and the question that I asked him was is when your life was going at its best and you and your wife was doing good and you had a wonderful child and you had a great job making good money, you were buying your house and not even hurting financially, and everything was running smooth did you feel like there was something more like if there was something missing in your life, and surprising to me he said, yes I felt there was something missing in my life, so I told him of the mercy of Jesus Christ but he turned down anything I had told him of Jesus’ love and how Jesus died for him, and said I don’t know why I am here but right now fell just fine the way I am living, this made me feel very sad because I knew the love of my Saviour, and I wanted so badly for him to see the light of Jesus also, but he was not ready yet for the cross of Jesus Christ in his life.
So you know I began to wonder what I could possibly do for these kind of people that I would come across in my life that did not want right now in there life our dear Jesus’ love.
So then the Holy Spirit brought it to me that we are called just to love all people, that in loving those that do not want to hear verbally about the message of Jesus Christ love would draw them closer than words could ever tell, or anything we could say for after all it is not what we can say, but what the Holy Spirit says, we are all as Christians called to love one another, and all those in need of love.
It says in Mark 12:29-31.
29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] No other commandment is greater than these.”
You know the way I see the meaning of this scripture is that the whole is our neighbor everyone we meet and come across so I believe that this is a perfect way to show the love of Jesus Christ, and lead as many as possible to His wonderful mercy, and saving grace. And also I believe that this awesome web site “Proclaimers for Christ” is a great way to get the word of our amazing God out to the millions that truly need Him, that of all of those that need to claim, reclaim, and exclaim.
So lets all do our part as believers in Jesus Christ, and just love, love, love. Amen
