A Lesson from the Boys in class tonight

A lesson from the Boys: Had a good time with the boys last night actually awesome we
were in Neh  5 and I had them read the story and my helper for the evening was an intern and she did great and a
father stayed and helped we all had fun, our topic was integrity and what it
means.  When dealing with kids you always have to remember that all do not have a 2 parent home as was my case last

We came to a question in our book on whom in your life do you look up
to, most of the boys as they answered said my mom, my dad and I came to one
young man and he said, “Ron I have no one, I really don’t…” My heart
sank, a little voice next to him said “Chi-boy yes you do!”  he quipped back “no Zuriel I don’t” and
zuriel looked at him and said, “You have Ron…has he ever lied to you or not
been there for you…so you do have someone…”  a huge smile hit his face, and he said “Ron, I have you in my life to
look up to….”  Man I had a hard time not crying…you talk about humbling, the hurt in his eyes now replaced with comfort
knowing he had someone…

As Dora and I drove home I said,”Dora it is not about that he had me that touched me, it was that they all came together to let him
know, you may be feeling alone, but we’re here with you and commander ron…it
was the reaching out of children to children to one another, that just made me
want to cry, I wish we could all be like little children, looking out for each
other and be encouragers…”   The rest of the night this young man was involved and connected, why?  Because he felt safe, and others had looked out for him and showed God’s love…

If you want your life changed, I challenge you, no I dare you to go to your Pastor or Fellowship
and say “I would like to teach children…”  You will never be the same, you build a bond and get attached…some of
these children are really hurting and their homes are dysfunctional as all get
out…but you put one person with integrity in their lives that will show them
love and it not only changes them it changes YOU!   Yes, there will be night and times you wanna
pull your hair out, but, it is worth it… You may be the only Gospel they see
lived out in from of them… Be a man or woman of God and have integrity and get
involved, do what Jesus would do, keep your word in all situations and once you
step out, don’t look back and be a quitter, YOU can Do ALL things Through Jesus

My prayer is if this causes one person to step out by faith it is
worth writing…I didn’t think I was good with children at all… What I found out
is they are very forgiving if you are just there for them and play with them
and love them… Watch out they are very smart, I win very few checker games…lol
lol lol …. Have a great Day in Jesus!

Real People

Real People, Peo Reaple, Frontwards, Backwards, Run for the Mark.  Love the LORD and love your neighbor, serving GOD with gladness in your heart.  I penned these words 25 years ago for Real People Summer Camp when I realized that understanding ones own depravity (or sin) is the beginning of being real. When I realized just how insecure I was, and not only me, but everybody else too, then and only then did I begin to rest in Christ.  Knowing the truth has set me free to willingly and gratefully surrender to being HIS slave and as the song states; “love the LORD and love my neighbor, serving God with gladness in my heart.(Psalm 100).    Enjoy the Journey.

The Prodigal Son

Jesus told a story about a man and his two sons:

Once a man had two sons, the younger son went to  his father and said:  ”Give me my share of the property.”  So the father divided the  property between his two sons.  Soon the younger son gathered his belongings and left.  He traveled to a far country  where he wasted away his wealth.

When his money was gone, there arose a famine in that land.  Soon he had nothing to eat.  He went to work for a man who owned pigs.   His job was to feed and care for the pigs.  He would gladly eat what the pigs were eating because no one offered him food.  He finally came to his senses.  He remembered that his father’s workers had plenty of food.  And here he was starving to death.  After thinking about it, he decided to go back to  his father and tell him:  ”Father, I have sinned against God and you.  I am no longer good enough to be called your son.  Please  treat me like one of your workers.”

The younger son got up and headed home.  When he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming.  His father felt sorry for him, he ran to him and hugged and kissed him.  The son said to his father:  ”Father, I have sinned against God and you.  I am no longer good enough to be called your son.”  The father was so happy to see his son.  He told the servants:  ”Hurry and bring the best clothes and put them on him.  Give him a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet.  Get the best calf and prepare for a celebration.  My son was dead and now he has come back to life.  He was lost, but now has been found.”

The older son was coming home from work and heard the music and dancing.  He asked one of the servants what was happening.  The servant told him that his brother had come home and that they were ordered to kill the best calf so they could celebrate.  The older brother was very angry and would not go into the house.  His father bagged him to come in.  But he said to his father:  ”I worked for you like a slave and you never gave me a calf so I could give a dinner for my friends.  My brother has wasted his share of wealth and now he comes home and you ordered the best calf to be killed for a feast.  ”His father replied:  ”My son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.  We should be happy and glad to celebrate his coming home.  Your brother was dead, but he is now alive.  He was lost and has been found!”

Jesus has provided a way for you to come home!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.    John 3:16

To Show Love To Those In Need!!!

I have a very close friend somebody that has helped me out many times   in my need when my heart was very broken, and I was very hurt because of the tragedies in my life, and there came a time in our relationship we kind of went our own ways cause of the difficulties in life, one day about three years later, I ended seeing him again as I was putting a job application at a certain place, and he was there doing the same thing to, and I just happened to see him there and make eye contact with him so I could not help myself I just had to go over to him and shake hands, and we talked just a little while, and I told him if needed and help or a place to go he was welcome to come to my place I had an extra room he could stay in for a while so it was a few weeks down the road he ended coming to stay with my wife and I well that was about ten months ago and he still abiding with us.

Well now getting to the point I want to make is we need to put ourselves out there to help those in need, not just because someone helps us, but to help those in need because we have the love of Jesus Christ in our hearts.  Well back to my friend he, sad to say does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I have spoke to him many times about his life and wanted to know where he thought it was headed, and he said he did not know he said he felt fine the way his life was going, and I thought for a while and said you know you got out of jail because of your DUI, and now you don’t have your drivers licence, and you lost your family, and your home that you were blessed with and you feel like your life is going just fine?  So then it was quiet in the car for a moment, and I said to him I just want to ask you a question, and the question that I asked him was is when your life was going at its best and you and your wife was doing good and you had a wonderful child and you had a great job making good money, you were buying your house and not even hurting financially, and everything was running smooth did you feel like there was something more like if there was something missing in your life, and surprising to me he said, yes I felt there was something missing in my life, so I told him of the mercy of Jesus Christ but he turned down anything I had told him of Jesus’ love and how Jesus died for him, and said I don’t know why I am here but right now fell just fine the way I am living, this made me feel very sad because I knew the love of my Saviour, and I wanted so badly for him to see the light of Jesus also, but he was not ready yet for the cross of Jesus Christ in his life.

So you know I began to wonder what I could possibly do for these kind of people that I would come across in my life that did not want right now in there life our dear Jesus’ love.

So then the Holy Spirit brought it to me that we are called just to love all  people, that in loving those that do not want to hear verbally about the message of Jesus Christ love would draw them closer than words could ever tell, or anything we could say for after all it is not what we can say, but what the Holy Spirit says, we are all as Christians called to love one another, and all those in need of love.

It says in Mark 12:29-31.

29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] No other commandment is greater than these.”

You know the way I see the meaning of this scripture is that the whole is our neighbor everyone we meet and come across so I believe that this is a perfect way to show the love of Jesus Christ, and lead as many as possible to His wonderful mercy, and saving grace.  And also I believe that this awesome web site “Proclaimers for Christ” is a great way  to get the word of our amazing God out to the millions that truly need Him, that of all of those that need to claim, reclaim, and exclaim.

So lets all do our part as believers in Jesus Christ, and just love, love, love. Amen
